Approximately 1 out of 5 people in the entire world surf the net. This means that the internet market has a low saturation rate. More internet users are expected in the years to come. Also, let us take a look at satellite TV viewing. The latest counts estimated that more than 30 percent of American homes watch satellite TV regularly. This percentage is poised to rise further.

When you reconcile these 2 facts together, it is everyone?s guess that one day, PC satellite TV or to watch satellite TV on PC would become the most popular choice of TV viewing. Whether it would become your preferred choice or not, you call the shots. What we can do is to study carefully some advantages this TV viewing experience seems to have over the traditional satellite TV system.

1. Cost of PC Satellite TV Set-up

How much does it to install your PC satellite TV system? If you setting up a DIY satellite dish system, it can easily cost you hundreds and thousands of dollars. Multi-dish system which are more robust and can capture more satellite TV channels would have set you back by a thousand or two. Of course you can always go with the satellite TV services like DirecTV where the system is free. But with PC satellite TV, all it costs is the price of the software. It is like $50 ? 100 at max.

2. Cost to Watch Satellite TV on PC

We spoke about the set up cost. Another thing to consider is the cost to watch satellite TV on PC. With DIY systems, it is free since you are receiving FTA TV feeds from the TV stations. The same goes for PC satellite TV ? no charges. Satellite TV services would probably cost you anything from $20 onwards per month.

3. Installation Method

Whether it is paid satellite TV services or DIY satellite systems, you cannot escape from the drudgery of a satellite dish TV setup. PC satellite TV is much neater in this aspect. All it takes is a few click installation of the software. If you know how to fiddle with the mouse, you can handle that. Even our grandmas and pops can do that. You can download the software from home without even stepping out of the house.

4. Multi-Satellite TV Stations

The high cost of running satellite TV services and cable networks make it harder for them to compete with PC satellite TV systems. With a PC satellite TV system, you are tapping on both satellite TV technology and internet technology. Using Free-to-air satellite transmission and display, you can access to thousands of satellite TV stations from world news, kids programs to sports and digital entertainment for free. And the benefit to watch satellite TV on PC is that number of TV programs keeps adding without any extra charges.

5. Satellite TV Program Management

Accessing Satellite TV through Your Personal Computer

If your home is equipped with a satellite dish for TV viewing, you know how enjoyable it can be. An abundance of nationwide and international programming options, sporting events that aren?t broadcasted on the cable networks, numerous satellite radio stations and more all add up to endless opportunities for your family?s viewing and listening pleasure.

But what about the expense of having multiple digital receivers in your home, especially when everyone usually gathers in one common area to watch TV instead of utilizing the additional units? Then you may not only be wasting money because the other receivers aren?t being put to use, but there?s also the long-standing issue of fighting over the remote as well.

One way to avoid the extra cost of multiple receivers is to install satellite TV on your personal PC or laptop. The reception is just as clear as viewing through the television (depending on your monitor), but the bonus is that you only pay a one-time fee for the instant download and once you?ve completed the installation, you get unlimited viewing and usage from it.

There?s quite a few online companies offering this type of software/service, so you?ll have to do a little research and pick the one that you feel is best suited to your needs in terms of price and provisions, but once you do, you can have instant viewing access to satellite TV, right on your computer screen. Your PC is actually transformed into an additional television set and digital satellite receiver so that you can watch TV from whatever room in the house you like. And with the satellite signal that comes through the internet, there?s even more channels available than with your regular TV?s dish receiver!

It?s incredibly simple and 100% legal to boot. There?s no need to buy extra hardware either ? no special TV card, cable, USB port, etc. is needed ?all you need is internet access. That means no fumbling with the dish on the side of your house to get the right angle or strongest signal for the best reception! And you don?t even need a ?super fast? internet connection ? a 56K modem will do the trick quite nicely. Having little or no computer experience is not an obstacle either because all you do is pay for the software online, receive and access the instant download, then install it according to the prompts.

There are no restrictions on geographical locations, or where the computer is located in your home. You actually move anywhere in the world and still receive the same quality reception and access to the satellite signal. And the really great part is that you only pay a one-time fee for the software ? there are no monthly service charges ? and the prices are very reasonable. Even though the cost does vary, on average it?s only about $50 for a lifetime of usage!

So if you want to save money, gain access to even more broadcasting options and keep everyone happy watching their favorite programs instead fighting over the remote, satellite TV on your PC is definitely something you should consider.

Why dont I watch free satellite TV program on PC?

Nowadays we see more and more vendors are selling software that enables consumer to watch satellite TV program on their PC. The set up of the satellite-to-pc system is unbelievable cheap and I believe it attracts lots of consumer trying it. While it might suits someone’s appetite, satellite-to-pc system is definitely not for me at the moment.

The reason behind? Here’s why.

Reliability of free satellite TV program on PC

The consistency of satellite-to-PC program highly depends on the quality of my Internet services. While my Internet service provider (ISP) do regularly fail to give me high speed Internet and sometimes even server down, it in turn bring down my other entertainment – TVs in case I am using satellite-to-pc program.

Then how about PC system? Virus attacks, bugs in operating systems, Trojan files – all these might cause you hours to format and fix. When these problems come in, it goes directly to my so call PC satellite TV as well where I might need to reinstall the satellite-to-PC software and reset all my program channels.

Complicated installation

I think satellite-to-PC program is a cool product but personally I am worry about the complicating set up process. From a consumer point of view, transferring satellite TV program to PC requires set up in computer hardware and installation of software; it does not look simple to me. But, if we want a satellite-to-PC program, we need to do all this by ourselves – what if something went wrong during the set up process? What if I screw up? Is there someone that I can call to? The question remains unanswered in most of the vendor website I visited.

Comparing satellite-to-PC with normal satellite TV service

Okay, once again I have to stress that I am extremely impressed with the price of satellite-to-PC service when compare to my usual satellite TV service. With most of the case, setting up satellite-to-pc is even cheaper than half of my monthly subscription fees in Dish Network.

But cheap is one thing, entertainment is another. I certainly do not enjoy watching at my small computer screen for TV entertainments. I certainly do not enjoy all my family members sitting crowded in my room look at my 19” monitor… and I certainly do not enjoy transferring my house into cable house if I ever thought of transferring the TV image from my PC to my TV at living room.

Conclusion

Personally I would not choose free satellite TV on PC over my Dish Network. Yes, I do pay extra for the satellite TV program subscriptions, but I enjoy the entertainment, I got full customer service support from them, and I get free four room satellite TV system from them.

But hey! That is my personal point of view. It might not suit you though. Who knows you enjoy working at your table while watching PC TV? Who knows you prefer budget stuffs compare to top notch entertainment? It depends.

If you are looking for satellite TV services, I would suggest you to check out the free satellite TV deals here.
